Through drawing, not only can I conceive ideas and solve pictorial problems related to my paintings, but I can also submit to a lack of mental control, the subconscious and the absurd. Forms bulge out of shape and stain, interweave with line, are automatic and bodily. Movement contrasts with ideas of representation and meshes with different visual languages, order, faculties.  Thoughts, suggestive of consciousness, control and intellect, wrestle with the unconscious, gesture and non-verbal; the dichotomy of cognition and body in a sticky mass.
